This is a GM 100 Amp one wire alternator. The only wiring required is to hook up the battery charge cable (1-wire) to the output post on the rear of the unit. Install the alternator, start the vehicle, and step on the gas slightly and the alternator will start to charge on its own. This is the easiest installation possible!
We build these units to provide 55 amps at an idle. That's as much as the original units put out at high RPM. This alternator will replace externally and internally regulated alternators from 1963 through 1983 year models. Also perfect for street rods and project cars.
